Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and interventions needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.
Research shows that school climate strongly influences students' motivation to learn and improve academic achievement. When school staff and students feel safe, valued, cared for, respected, and engaged, learning increases.
A positive school climate provides the foundation on which instruction will occur and all students will learn, therefore, the implementation of positive behavior intervention techniques is paramount for our schools’ and students’ success.
