Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

At BPUSD, we implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across all TK-12 grade schools to foster positive campus cultures, boost engagement, and build warm environments for students to learn. Our schools are proud to offer unique experiences, events, and rewards for students who uphold PBIS values. PBIS is a proactive approach that provides the behavioral supports and interventions necessary for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.

 

Research shows that school climate strongly influences students' motivation to learn and their academic achievement. When school staff and students feel safe, valued, cared for, respected, and engaged, learning increases. A positive school climate provides the foundation on which instruction occurs and all students learn. Therefore, the implementation of positive behavior intervention techniques is paramount for our schools' and students' success.
