Superintendent's Welcome Message, 2026-2027
Dear Baldwin Park Unified Community,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope you and your family enjoyed a great summer. As we begin a new year of learning, I am excited to welcome back our students, families, employees, and community partners for another year of growth, opportunity, and achievement.
Throughout the summer, teams across Baldwin Park Unified have been working diligently to prepare our schools and programs for a successful return. The Maintenance and Operations team refreshed campuses and learning spaces, Technology Services enhanced classrooms with new interactive displays and an upgraded visitor management system to strengthen safety and improve the front office experience for our families. Meanwhile, educators, administrators, and support staff collaborated through professional learning, curriculum planning, and program preparation to ensure every student is engaged with high-quality instruction and support.
As we begin this new year, we also look ahead with renewed goals. The Board of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to the District's three priorities, while sharpening the focus within each area to better serve our students and community.
- First, strengthen academic programs and incorporate essential life skills by solidifying cohesive learning pathways for each stage of a student's educational journey.
- Second, expand on fostering safe and supportive learning environments by maximizing opportunities for meaningful family engagement and community partnerships that support student success.
- Finally, continue to exercise fiscal prudence to maintain solvency amid changing and uncertain budget conditions, while placing an increased emphasis on workforce excellence.
These refreshed priorities reflect our shared commitment to keeping student achievement at the center of every decision we make. Together, we will continue building learning environments where every student is supported, every family feels connected, and every employee is empowered to make a lasting difference. There is much to look forward to in the months ahead!
As Superintendent, and alongside our Board of Education, I extend my sincere gratitude to our community for your continued trust and partnership. Together, we remain committed with our efforts to ensure high achievement for all learners.
Welcome back, and here's to a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Froilan N. Mendoza
