btsm Academy is in its first year as a school and it is been an awesome opportunity to use our Project Lead the Way platform to develop a stem pathway Wings in grades three through eight are three main Pathways one is the engineering other ones of biomedical in the last ones of programming so they get a little taste of all three when they come through here at the Summit Academy we have our stamp from our AVID program we also have a great music program and we have a leadership class the ASD program as well we give students plenty of opportunity to explore all of those programs and feet and get them excited and see what they can be successful and we all know that if students are not feeling well then they're probably not going to be doing well so we understand the importance of a student having that social emotional support if they need it ideas miss being able to capitalize on those great ideas allow them to go deeper with their own thoughts and to be able to articulate those my son he used to be shy he wouldn't talk to no one he keeps himself now he is more outgoing BP STEM Academy also helped him as far as maintaining his great if you're going to have good grades you can be in the robotics program did not want to get out of bed and I thought stop after school and probiotic and I got up and I decided to go to school today I'm kind of robotic is real like a Capstone project or Capstone class with some of these kids so it's a way for them to apply what they learn after our stay competition me won a trophy that Beast me put it in Worlds and my mom couldn't believe it in general she's like this is this is insane so proud of my robotics team and what they've been able to accomplish they have pretty much put Allen park has a robotic map it's a school where the students strive to excel striving for the best striving for excellence and striving to be better to themselves and to their friends we do have a extracurricular activity call 7 years for this program is really designed to really Inspire really put these girls in the position where they can excel in a engineering program it's an amazing process to watch as students close to some things in engineering or whether his computer programming or whether it's file medicine and for the first time and watch their eyes light up and then watch them become excited about understanding more I want to know more I want to be able to see more show me some more stuff you know that we can do that's the excitement that's what makes you wake up every day and enjoy coming into work when I was growing up there wasn't this type of environment it wasn't this type of opportunity given to us means he doesn't have to struggle like I did work himself to death to get to that better place I think it's been the best decision we've made for his education and watching kids say I'm going to be an aerospace engineer at Davis or I'm going to be a Marine just at UC Santa Cruz it isn't making me really proud of what these kids have done it is a very short. Of time
