At Baldwin Park Unified, we believe mental health is an essential part of a student’s overall well-being and academic success. We are committed to supporting students’ social, emotional, and mental wellness and access to care. Students and parents may reach out to their school counselor or site administration for guidance and support.

BPUSD MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

HAZEL HEALTH

With Hazel Health, our BPUSD students can meet with a licensed therapist virtually for a therapy appointment. Services are available at school and at home, and are at no cost to our families.

Hazel Health services include:

Scheduled therapy appointments: Therapy can help students cope with what they’re feeling, such as behavior changes, anxiety, bullying, withdrawal, grief, peer and family relationships, depression, or stress.
Licensed therapists: Hazel Health therapists are bilingual, diverse and are experts in the needs of children and teens.
Care coordination: If your child needs additional services outside of Hazel Health services, Hazel will help connect you to local resources.

CARE SOLACE

Baldwin Park Unified is partnering with Care Solace, an online research tool that assists individuals in finding local counseling-related services, to promote the importance of mental health and ensure the well-being of the District community. More About Care Solace:

Individuals answer 10 questions and are directed to an extensive list of referrals for care providers.
A search algorithm matches individuals with mental health care resources within seconds.
Care Solace generates referrals that take into account a variety of insurance policies, including private insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicaid and Medicare.
If uninsured, Care Solace also identifies local care providers that allow individuals to pay out-of-pocket for services.
The site does not require a username, home address, phone number or date of birth.

Non-Judgmental Emotional Peer Support

As the CA Peer Run Warm Line is staffed 24/7 by trained Peers with specialized training in supporting mental health challenges, we are already seeing a number of callers with concerns surrounding the virus and associated news reports.
