Baldwin Park USD continues to hold the standard of excellence in Dual Language (DL) programs in the San Gabriel Valley. Did you know that students who complete the DL program may qualify for the Dual Language Seal as well as the Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma? Here are some highlights of the program:
- Baldwin Park High School had 24 Seniors graduate with the DL Seal in 2018.
- This year, Sierra Vista High School continues to grow their DL program to include 11th grade.
- The middle/junior high schools offer a zero period to allow for DL students to continue in DL as well as take an extra elective.
- At the elementary level, BPUSD offers Istation, a computer adaptive technology in Spanish Language Arts that supports student assessment and academic practice.
- The Office of Student Achievement is considering a similar program for math. In fact, several teachers are piloting DreamBox, a computer adaptive technology to support math development in Spanish for TK – 3rd grade.
