Sierra Vista High School Celebrates Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony

The ceremony brought together families, friends, staff, district leaders, and community members to honor the graduates as they completed their high school journey and prepared for the opportunities ahead.

Principal Vince Pratt welcomed attendees and reflected on the strength, perseverance, and character of the graduating class. Pratt acknowledged that the Class of 2026 navigated a year marked by challenges, yet continued to move forward with determination and resilience.

"Especially during a year filled with uncertainty and adversity, our Dons showed up, supported one another, and continued moving forward," Pratt said. "It is an honor to stand before a class filled with future doctors, leaders, innovators, and changemakers. You have demonstrated the skills, talent, and resilience necessary to succeed."

Members of the Baldwin Park Unified School District Board of Education joined in celebrating the graduates, with Board Vice President/ Clerk Jose M. Mata accepting the graduating class on behalf of the Board.

The ceremony also recognized the academic achievements of the school's top scholars. Valedictorian Chad Prado graduated with a 4.660 grade point average, while Salutatorian Isabella Mariona earned a 4.655 grade point average.

Student leaders also addressed their classmates and guests during the ceremony. Associated Student Body President Sophia Lopez and Senior Class President Yina Perez shared reflections on their experiences at Sierra Vista High School, encouraging graduates to embrace new opportunities and carry forward the lessons, friendships, and memories they gained as Dons.

Throughout the evening, graduates celebrated years of hard work, academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and personal growth. As they crossed the stage to receive their diplomas, they marked the culmination of one chapter and the beginning of another.
