Surrounded by family members, friends, staff, and supporters, graduates were recognized for reaching an important milestone in their educational journey. North Park Continuation High School celebrated 85 graduates, while also supporting numerous students who improved their academic performance and earned enough credits to return to their home comprehensive high schools.
The ceremony was hosted by Crescencio Ramirez, the school's Curriculum Technology Interventions and Support, and Principal Alejandra Escutia, who welcomed attendees and reflected on the accomplishments of the graduating class.
"These graduates have demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination, and growth," Escutia said. "It has been an honor to support these students and witness their success. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see the paths they pursue after graduation."
Several students addressed their classmates during the ceremony, sharing reflections on their educational journeys and hopes for the future. The ceremony also had three student speakers as follows:
Graduate Stephanie Jimenez Jimenez shared plans to attend Mt. San Antonio College, where she will pursue a career in fashion and design.
Cristina G. Contreras told attendees she plans to attend Mt. San Antonio College and pursue a career as a veterinary technician.
Wendy E. Jaimes shared her goal of attending East Los Angeles College and pursuing a career in education as a teacher.
North Park teacher of the year, Michael Garcia, also took the stage to share a heartfelt message with the graduating class.
A highlight of the ceremony was North Park’s annual Passing of the Lei tradition. During the special moment, graduates presented their purple flower fresh leis to a family member, friend, mentor, or loved one in attendance who had made a meaningful impact on their lives and educational journey. The symbolic tradition served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude and recognition for the individuals who supported students along the way.
Board of Education member John B. de Leon officially accepted and congratulated the class of 2026. North Park Continuation High School serves students through a supportive and personalized educational environment focused on academic achievement, personal growth, and preparing students for success beyond high school.
