The free six-week summer program, which supports extended learning, has drawn hundreds of students with its blend of hands-on academic enrichment and exciting extracurricular activities designed to stimulate young minds during the break. Summer learning is now offered at every elementary and middle school. The program is part of the District’s commitment to providing high-quality, equitable learning experiences year-round.
“This summer, we’ve been thrilled to offer students opportunities that go far beyond the classroom,” BPUSD Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza said. “Students are building new skills, exploring new places, and forming positive connections that support their growth and well-being.”
This year’s summer offerings include outdoor field days, water play stations, and special excursions to destinations such as Angels baseball games, Dodger Stadium Tour, Topgolf, Universal Studios Backlot Tour, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the immersive Cosm experience in Inglewood. Students have also participated in cooking classes led by professional chefs and taken part in STEM-based challenges, arts and crafts, and team-building games—all tailored to different age groups.
Think Together’s summer program emphasizes whole-child development, aiming to keep students active, curious, and socially engaged while reinforcing academic skills through hands-on exploration.
The summer initiative builds on Baldwin Park Unified’s broader goals of fostering joyful learning and providing safe, supportive spaces for students year-round.
