Bursch Elementary Celebrates 75 Years with Heartwarming Diamond Jubilee

The community event commemorated the school’s 75th anniversary with families, alumni, students, staff, and community partners. Generations of the Bulldog family together for an evening of memories and celebration. Former staff members and alumni reunited, sharing stories and laughter that echoed across the campus, turning the night into a special moment in school history.

The celebration kicked off with Bursch cheer students lining the entrance, welcoming guests with school spirit. On the blacktop, guests explored a festive hub filled with interactive stations, including an Earth Club demonstration, a yearbook look-up booth featuring archived photos and yearbooks, a campus history timeline, an art station where students decorated commemorative tiles, and a photo booth. Guests also enjoyed desserts and music throughout the evening.

Board of Education Members Norma Olmos, Dr. Jose M. Mata, and Mr. Ricardo Vazquez joined the celebration, along with Superintendent Dr. Mendoza and the Baldwin Park Police Department officers.

The highlight of the evening’s program included folklórico performances from three grade levels, proudly showcasing Bursch students' cultural pride and talent. The school community also came together for a spirited rendition of the Bursch Bulldog Chant.

“Today marks more than just an anniversary – it's a reflection of the legacy of excellence that has formed at Bursch over the past 75 years,” said school Principal Ofelia Romero. “We are deeply thankful for everyone who has been a part of this community to help ensure our shared goal of ensuring high achievement for all learners.”

The event concluded with hugs, photos, and plenty of reminiscing, leaving guests with full hearts and a renewed sense of community.
