Baldwin Park Unified recognized the outstanding employees who go above and beyond to support students, families and staff by celebrating the District’s 2022-23 Employees of the Year, including classified, certificated and management staff.
Teacher of the Year
Alejandra Covarrubias – Olive Middle School
Covarrubias teaches seventh-grade Dual Language, sixth-grade English language arts, a study skills class, and as Associated Student Body (ASB) Director, teaches the ASB leadership class.
Adult and Community Teacher of the Year
Brandon Palmer – BPACE
Palmer serves as a chef instructor of culinary arts.
Certificated Administrator of the Year
Perla Mendez – District Office
Mendez serves as the District’s school psychologist on special assignment.
Classified Administrator of the Year
Lupe Palacios – District Office
Palacios serves as the Senior Executive Assistant of Human Resources at BPUSD.
Classified Employee of the Year
Vanessa Alcala Blancas – Baldwin Park High School
Blancas serves as a secretary at BPHS.
