Baldwin Park High School junior Carolynn Hou and Sierra Vista High School junior Emily Hernandez had the opportunity to expand their leadership skills during the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) conference this past summer, an experience made possible by the generous funding from the Baldwin Park Women’s Club.
Baldwin Park Women’s Club sponsored both students so they could attend the conference, held summer of 2022 at Cal Poly Pomona.
During the weeklong conference, students learned leadership and life skills through seminars and lessons taught by dynamic speakers and instructors.
Hernandez and Hou were recognized during the Baldwin Park Women’s Club meeting on Oct. 7 to celebrate their achievements.
HOBY works to inspire and develop a global community of student volunteers to lead lives dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.
