Happy Holidays from Superintendent Mendoza

Happy Holidays

Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020

To our Baldwin Park Unified family,

As the fall semester closes and we prepare for a time of rest and peace with our loved ones, I want to express my sincerest gratitude for your dedication and strength, and for making 2020-21 a time of exceptional growth and learning.

On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to thank our incredible students, educators, staff, administrators, parents, and families for sticking together and succeeding despite the obstacles faced by our community and the world.

We learned the importance of our connectedness through community, virtual events and distanced catch-ups. We truly are strongest when we are united, as was demonstrated time and again by our teachers, who went above and beyond to ensure every learner was seen and appreciated, and by our staff and administrators, who worked behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly.

I would also like to celebrate our students, parents, and families for their exemplary patience and resiliency as we navigated this year. To be sure, next year will bring its challenges; however, we are prepared to tackle and overcome any tests that we will face.

It is a privilege to witness and be part of the incredible things that take place across our school communities, from Early Childhood Education through to Adult Education.

Please look after your emotional and mental health this winter season and know that you are not alone in adjusting to the changes brought on by this year.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and restorative holiday season and winter break!

Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza
