Baldwin Park Unified cares deeply about the mental health and wellbeing of all our students, families and staff. In difficult situations, or unsettling circumstances like those that we are experiencing during the pandemic, it is important to have healthy outlets to express our feelings and have safe spaces in which to heal.
BPUSD is here to ensure students, staff and parents feel comforted, supported and valued. As such, the District launched a virtual Wellness Center, offering a number of mental health and socio-emotional resources for the community.
Inspired and adapted from the Sacramento City Unified School District, the Virtual Calming Room is a place for students, staff and parents to access tools and strategies for processing and managing emotions while building resiliency.
The BPUSD community is encouraged to use the Virtual Calming Room as a personal check-in throughout the day or as a resource when needing to ground and rebalance.

To help students, families and staff cope during overwhelming times, BPUSD assembled additional resources for support.
BPUSD School Psychologist Mayra Rosales spearheaded the initiative for this online resource center for families and staff.

“Baldwin Park Unified is committed to our mission of ensuring high achievement for all learners, and the building blocks for life-long success begins with socio-emotional health,” Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza said. “Part of our vision is not only to support the wellbeing of our students, but our staff and District families as well. We are very pleased to offer these resources to our community and further promote a positive and supportive learning environment.”
