Baldwin Park High School Students Explore College, Career Options

BALDWIN PARK – Baldwin Park High School students who are undecided on what path to take after graduation received information and advice from dozens of college recruiters and potential employers during the school’s annual College and Career Fair on March 28.

Baldwin Park High School senior Jessica Moreno is interested in a medical career and was eager to find out details about the Mt. San Antonio College respiratory therapy program. During the fair, Mt. SAC recruiters showed Moreno the proper way to work with respiratory equipment.

“I love the medical field, but I want to continue to look around,” Moreno said. “It’s important to understand what’s around you and not stick with just one thing. The College and Career Fair is really good because it shows that you have a lot of options.”

College and Career Fair attendees were surprised to learn that they could apply for a job on the spot, potentially lining up summer employment, part-time work during college or full-time work in an exciting new career.

“Last year we had FBI recruiters here and one of our graduates has already started in the program,” Career Center Technician Lupe Falls said. “JPL is another recruiter that has made a strong impact on our students. There is opportunity for every student who attends the fair.”
