Sierra Vista Middle School Students Explore UCLA Campus

More than 80 AVID students embarked on an insightful campus tour of UCLA, accompanied by current university students who shared helpful information and tips. Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a school academic support program for grades seven through twelve, with the purpose of preparing students for college eligibility and success. The UCLA tour encompassed valuable information on college opportunities, admissions procedures, and financial aid opportunities.

"I am grateful for the support that is continuously extended to our AVID programs. Experiences like these allow our students to experience firsthand what the world of higher education has to offer," Sierra Vista Middle School Principal Julio C. Nunez said.

Every year, Baldwin Park Unified AVID students get the opportunity to visit various universities and colleges to help inspire them to pursue higher education.
