Graduating Seniors Chromebook Purchase

Guideline for Graduating Seniors Chromebook Purchase

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is extremely proud to announce that we are providing our graduating Seniors the option to purchase a Chromebook at a nominal fee to support them in their new adventures in college and/or career. Seniors may purchase their assigned District Chromebook, case, and charger for $5 as they continue their individual journeys toward greatness. Students must return the Chromebook they were originally issued.

As part of the high school check-out process for graduating students, all Seniors who fully complete their checkout process which is comprised of turning in all music/athletic equipment, textbooks, library books, and finally clearing all fines, will be made eligible for this equipment offer. Before the final check out process, staff verify that the student's account is clear.

During the checkout date, the graduating student will visit the Chromebook Paid Station as a final step for their Chromebook to be deprovisioned. During this final step technical staff will:

  • Verify the Chromebook is Assigned to the Student
  • Check the receipt of payment
  • Temporarily remove the Chromebook from the District’s management control

By the last day of school, technical staff will permanently remove all purchased Chromebooks from the District management control. The student will then need to login to the Chromebook with a personal Google account. All content filters will be removed, and the District will no longer be responsible for the Chromebook.

After graduation, students will have until June 30, to copy any files or emails they wish to keep from their school account to personal Google accounts. Instructions for the Google Take Out program are available at this link: How to Use Google Transfer or Google Takeout.
