BPUSD COVID-19 Protocols for Schools
INTRODUCTION
Happy New Year and welcome back to the second half of the 2022-2023 academic year. All schools will continue to offer full-day, in-person instruction to all students, five days a week while maintaining the highest standard of safety according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines. Students will also be able to participate in learning and enrichment activities during after-school programs.
Cleaning and safety practices will continue to ensure safe learning environments. These are the updated guidelines from 12-13-22.
- Masks are strongly recommended for all persons in any indoor school setting.
- Well-fitting and better-filtering masks (e.g., double masks, high filtration cloth masks, medical masks) and respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) are recommended.
- All individuals intending to be on campus should conduct a daily symptoms check at home prior to arriving at school or work.
- Students, staff, and visitors should not enter any facility if they have symptoms of COVID-19.
- Individuals identified as close contacts may remain on campus if they monitor for symptoms, wear a highly protective mask for 10 days after exposure, and test within 3-5 days since the last exposure.
- Facilities will be cleaned daily with special attention to high-touch areas.
- HVAC systems have been upgraded to include specialized air filters.
We encourage you to review the resources on this page to understand the COVID-19 protocols of the District. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in our schools.
