Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) Program

The Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) Program reimburses participating agencies, including school districts and county offices of education, for the work they do to help Medi-Cal reach eligible and potentially eligible students and familes.  The time staff spends on reimbursable outreach activities, paired with selected costs associated with the reimbursable time determines the amount of reimbursement agencies receive.

IMPORTANT NEWS:

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) received approval for a 2013-2014 Interim Claiming Plan.  Therefore, surveying MAA participants will begin for Quarter 2 (date below).  Participants who were trained during the 2012-2013 year may continue to participant in the MAA Program for the 2013-2014 year.  Those employees who are part of the MAA Program, but were not trained during the 2012-2013 year, will need to receive annual training before participating in the 2013-2014 Interim Claiming Process.

Starting 2014-2015 year, the RMTS (Random Moment Time Survey) methodology will be implemented for the MAA Program throughout California.  More information regarding RMTS will be distributed to MAA participants.
